WFMT Treasured Memories

As the WFMT begins its fourth month of celebrating 30 years as an organization, I want to remind you that we are still looking for submissions to the treasured memories project! Do you have a fond memory of a WFMT event, a treasured picture or video connected with the WFMT? Later in 2015, we will be publishing a feature on the WFMT website with content received from our members. Submissions are currently being accepted for consideration, and the deadline has been extended to May 15, 2015. Please email your submission to Jen Spivey. This should include a narrative (max. 250 words) and other supplementary documents such as: pictures (jpeg), sound files (mp3), and/or videos (mp4).

WFMT Folk Music Project

Submissions are being accepted to further develop the WFMT Folk Music Resouces. Is your country represented on the website? If you don't see song selections from your country, we invite you to submit a contribution! The WFMT believes that it is important for music therapists to understand the musical histories from multiple cultures around the world in order to lead to a better understanding of the many clinical applications of music in different cultures and in therapy settings. The Folk Music Project is a working platform for music therapists to stimulate further studies, experiences and dialogues for developing new contributions and approaches to our work. Check on We’re waiting for more musical histories from all over the world! Please email Daniel Tague, Chair of the Commission for Clinical Practice, for more information or to submit a paper.

Global Calendar

Don’t forget: If you would like to submit an event for the Global Music Therapy Events Calendar, please send the information to Jen Spivey, Secretary/Treasurer at and please take a moment to check out the events listed

If you have feedback, comments or questions that you would like to share please email the respective Commission Chair, Regional Liaison, or me. Email addresses for WFMT officers and commissioners are available on the WFMT website. We will do our best to respond in a few days.
