Tabea Thurn is a music therapist (MA) and teacher of Elementary Music Education (Dipl). She works as a freelance music therapist for people with disabilities and people with dementia in several institutions. Furthermore, she is leader of further education and workshops for nurses and caregivers in geriatric care. Since 2012 she has been a specialist teacher for elderly care at the Caritas Nursing School Schweinfurt. Since 2016 she has been a lecturer for music therapy in geriatrics for students of social work and within the new Master’s Programme “Music Therapy for Empowerment and Inclusion” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt. Tabea Thurn was a member of the DAAD-UA Melbourne-Würzburg Dementia Songwriting Project (MWD-Song). Currently she is the lead of the German PPI-Team of the EU-JPND research project HOMESIDE.
