Training

The recognised title of a qualified Australian Music Therapist is Registered Music Therapist (RMT). These letters may be used only by those General Members of the AMTA Inc who have successfully completed a course holding current accreditation with AMTA Inc or a course of music therapy approved by the National Registration Committee.

Accredited Courses

The prospective applicant must join the Association before making application for registration. On completion of the accredited or approved course, the applicant completes an application form that may be obtained from the National Office or downloaded from the Members’ Page if you are a current member. This form must be printed, filled in and mailed as it must be signed. Mail it to the National Registration Committee at the National Office.

Upcoming closing dates for registration applications are:

  • 13 January 2012
  • 16 March 2012
  • 10 August 2012

Newly Registered Music Therapists are acknowledged at a presentation ceremony that takes place at a dinner during the National Conference each year. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
